Finding the perfect Tiny house trailer for your tiny home

You have options. A good trailer for your tiny house project can be as simple as going on Craigslist and finding an old trailer for $600, or going online and ordering a trailer custom built.

What we like

A Custom Built tiny house trailer is your best bet. You can get it specially built to be strong enough to support 2x4s and wood or you can build lighter with aluminum or 2x3s, but a custom built trailer such as at Trailers Unlimited in Anaheim might be your best bet. You can choose the size you want and have options for different specs.

Getting a junker trailer and building off that.

Make sure the trailer is double Axel, at least, otherwise, make sure to use aluminum for the walls and roof to keep it light. If the build is to heavy the axels will break when you pull it. A negative to a junker trailer is that you get what you get, it’s harder to find the size you want because you are limited with what’s in the area. Custom Built Trailers are a better solution, but if you’re on a budget, a junker trailer is still good if it’s strong.
